Advocacy of audit results
The director of sanitation, Mr. Omar SENE, accompanied by his division heads, welcomed a delegation from the EDE Cabinet to discuss one of the key recommendations of the Technical Audit of sanitation works in urban areas (Phase 1) – advocacy.
As a reminder, this study entrusted to the EDE cabinet, was commissioned by the MEA following the council of ministers held on September 12, 2019 under the aegis of the Head of STATE following the damage caused by floods, broken pipes and the wastewater leaks observed on the networks of Dakar and in certain localities of the country.
To close this major study, the Cabinet, on its own initiative, produced a summary to serve as a plea to key decision-makers.
Following the exchanges and discussions, two (02) major recommendations were made:
- Develop a plan to popularize the audit carried out at the level of decision-makers (Ministries, elected officials, deputies, local authorities, etc.)
- Initiate Phase 2 in order to network the national territory
